YOUR SAFETY AND THAT OF OTHERS IS VERY IMPORTANT
This manual and the appliance itself provide important safety messages, to be read and observed at all times.
All safety messages indicate the potential hazard to which they refer, how to reduce the risk
of injury, and point out what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
- The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any
installation operation.
- Installation and maintenance must be carried out by a specialised technician, in compliance
with the manufacturer's instructions and the local safety regulations in force. Do not repair or
replace any part of the appliance unless specifically stated in the user manual.
- Do not store or use petrol or other flammable gases and liquids in the vicinity of the
appliance.
The electrical and gas connections must comply with local regulations.
- When the hob is installed, provide it with a single-pole circuit breaker with contact gap of at least 3 mm enabling
complete disconnection of the appliance.
- Earthing of the appliance is compulsory by law.
- The power cable must be long enough for connecting the installed appliance to the power socket.
- Only use a flexible or rigid metal pipe for the gas connection.
- If necessary, the power cable must be replaced with one having identical characteristics to the original supplied by the
manufacturer (type 3x0,75 mm
2
H05VV-F). This operation must be carried out by a qualified technician.
- The manufacturer declines any liability for injury or damage resulting from failure to comply with the above-mentioned rules.
- Do not use multiple-outlet sockets or extension cords.
- Do not pull the cable to unplug the appliance.
- The electrical parts must not be accessible to the user after installation.
- Do not touch the appliance with wet parts of the body and do not use it when barefoot.
- This hob (Class 3) is designed exclusively for household use for cooking food. Do not use the appliance to heat the room.
Doing so could result in carbon monoxide poisoning, as well as overheating of the hob. The Manufacturer declines any
liability for inappropriate use or incorrect setting of the controls.
- Children must be kept away from the appliance and watched over to ensure they do not play with it.
- The use of a gas appliance produces heat and humidity in the room. Ensure adequate ventilation or install an extractor
hood with exhaust duct.
- Do not touch the appliance heating elements during and after use. Do not allow cloths or other flammable materials to
come into contact with the appliance until all its parts have cooled sufficiently.
- Do not place flammable materials on or near the appliance.
- Do not place metal objects, such as kitchen utensils (knives, forks, spoons, lids, etc.), on the cooking zone, as they can
become hot.
- A separator panel (not supplied) must be inserted in the compartment beneath the appliance.
- If the top is damaged (glass cracked or broken), do not use the appliance. Call the After-Sales Service.
- In case of prolonged use, additional ventilation may be necessary (by opening a window or increasing the hood
extraction speed).
- After use, make sure the knobs are in the off position and close the main gas supply cock or the gas cylinder.
- Overheated oils and fats catch fire easily. Do not leave the appliance unattended when cooking foods rich in fat, oil or
alcohol (e.g. rum, cognac, wine).
- Keep the packing materials out of the reach of children.
- Wait until the hob has cooled before cleaning or maintenance.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

All safety messages will be preceded by the danger symbol and the words:

WARNING
Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could cause

WARNING
Failure to comply with the information given in this manual can
result in a fire or explosion, causing injury or damage.
WARNING
The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use.
Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements.
Children less than 8 years old shall be kept away, unless
continuously supervised.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
WARNING
Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous
and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water,
but switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lid
or a fire blanket.
WARNING
Danger of fire: do not store items on the cooking surface. This
appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external
timer or separate remote-control system.
WARNING
If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the
possibility of electric shock.
What to do if you smell gas:
- Do not switch on any appliance.
- Do not touch electrical switches.
- Do not use telephones in the house.
- Immediately call the gas company from a neighbours phone. Follow the gas companys instructions.
- If you cannot reach the gas company, call the fire department.
- Appliance installation and maintenance must be carried out by a qualified installer, a service centre or the gas
company.
- Only use the appliance in adequately ventilated rooms.
