Packing
Do not throw the packing into the garbage: first sort out the dif-
ferent materials (i.e.: steel, cardboard, polystyrene) following lo-
cal regulations.
Conformity declaration
This appliance incorporates parts intended to come into contact
with foodstuffs in compliance with EEC Directive 89/109/CEE.
Information
This appliance is free of CFC’s (refrigerant circuit contains R134a)
or free of HFC’s (refrigerant circuit contains R600a - Isobutane).
For more details, please refer to the rating plate on the appliance.
For appliances with Isobutane (R600a)
The refrigerant Isobutane is a natural gas of high environmen-
tal compatibility but which si inflammable. Therefore, it is es-
sential to ensure that the ducts of the refrigerant circuit do not
get damaged.
Know your appliance
The appliance you have just bought, which is marked by the
symbol, allows perfect freezing of fresh and cooked
foods, the production of ice cubes and the storage of com-
mercially pre-packed frozen foods. The appliances fitted with
super insulation have been designed to grant high performan-
ces with a reduced energy consumption.
Please read these instructions carefully, you will find the de-
scription of your appliance and the useful hints to obtain the
best performance to store foods.
Description of the appliance
(Fig. 1)
A. Control panel with:
Appliances provided with exterior luminous thermometer
1. Fast freeze switch
2. Temperature selector knob (thermostat). It can be adjusted
by means of a coin
3. Yellow fast freeze pilot lamp: it lights up and switches off
pressing switch 1
4. Luminous external thermometer: it allows you to check the
temperature of the foods stored.
In normal ambient conditions, the first three green pilot lamps
at the left are alight. These lamps correspond to a temperature
of -18°C. When you open the door for a long time, the third
and the second green lights may switch off. This can also hap-
pen when you introduce fresh foods to be frozen into the ap-
pliance.
This does not mean that the frozen foods are in danger, it is sim-
ply due to the heat of the fresh foods which are being frozen.
5. Red alarm pilot lamp indicating critical temperatures inside
the freezer. It flashes when:
- the freezer is first connected to the electricity supply
- the freezer is loaded with fresh foods
- the temperature inside the appliance is too warm
- the freezer door is left open for a long time
It goes off when:
- the internal temperature is correct.

- the appliance is first connected to the electricity supply
- the freezer is loaded with fresh food

It lights up when the appliance is connected to the mains, if
the thermostat control knob is not set to position ““.

D. Some models are provided with cold packs (eutectics): re-
move them from the lower compartment and position them
one near the other on the first top grid.
Installation
Ensure that the appliance is not damaged.
Transit damages must be reported to your dealer within 24 h
of receipt of the appliance.
The appliance should not be installed close to heat sources,
central heating, cookers, boilers, sunlight, etc. It must howe-
ver be located in a well ventilated dry space. If the appliance is
installed under a kitchen furniture, leave a 50 mm air gap
(Fig. 2). Ensure that the appliance is level; adjust, if required,
the front feet (Fig. 3).
To ensure the free air circulation, the ventilation grid situated
above the appliance must not be obstructed (Fig. 4).
Clean the interior with a sponge dampened in a solution of
warm water and vinegar.
Position the cold packs on the first top grid.
Electrical connection and operation
Check that the voltage on the rating plate (Fig. 5) corresponds
to the voltage in your home (Fig. 6). The earthing of this ap-
pliance is compulsory by law.
The manufacturer will accept no liability for injury to persons
or damage to objects arising from the non-observance of this
requirement.
If the plug and the wall socket do not comply, have the socket
replaced by a qualified electrician. He should also check that
the section of the socket wires can withstand the power ab-
sorbed by the appliance.
The use of adapters, multiple sockets and extension cords is
not advisable.
If absolutely necessary, use simple or multiple adapters and ex-
tension cords in compliance with local safety regulations,
paying attention not to exceed the maximum amperage, which
is marked on the simple adaptors and on extension cords and
that of the total power marked on the multiple adapters.

Fuse replacement
If the mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363A 13
amp fused plug, to change a fuse in this type of plug use an
A.S.T.A. approved fuse to BS 1362 type and proceed as fol-
lows:
